the number of people killed by atheists is far outweighed by the number killed in the name of whatever god the religion in authority worships.

Study shows more violence in religious societes
by dawg insince no one bothered to read in my last thread how secular societies have lower rates of violence and teenage pregnancy than societies where many people profess belief in god.
i figured i'd give those among us who are religious the benefit of the doubt that the post was lost in the haze of the argument.
so, i thought i'd post it again here.

thats the greatest thing that ever happened to that reporter. he is no doubt thrilled to death that he was arrested on camera. how many times was he asked to leave the area before they arrested him? did he come back after being moved to the other side of the street?
a citizen can use public property as they see fit, as long as it doesnt interfere with other people. if enough people complained to hotel management about being photographed when they really didnt want to be, for whatever reason, then the hotel management had a right to complain to the police about him. and if the reporter repeatedly ignored the officers orders to stop what other people felt was an intrusive act on his part, well, there you go i guess.
we need to see all the footage, i think.

the things being experienced by those who were engaged in secular employment, who had homes and families, knew what it was to be married or to be parents, had to face the problems and difficulties of day-to-day living as most people face them, formed little or no part of his experience.
from my own personal association with him over many years, it was evident that he was quite detached---or perhaps the expression could be "insulated"---from the reality of life as lived by the average person.

by oompa ini find it interesting that jw's so often think they are in full harmony with all wt teachings, but in reality, they have softend a tough jw position in there own mind.
for instance, a close jw friend of mine....my age....actually told me he did not think wt ever said that only jw's will survive armageddon!!!!
of course this is because he does not want to think of billions of good decent people that are not dubs dying....i believed that way....and my elder dad does too.

it says that even those "ignorant" that is, never been witnessed to and are oblivious to their live-giving truths, WILL BE destroyed.

the inner columns were the ones actually bearing the weight of the building. weakening the outside columns would have caused at worst a failing of the outer curtain of the building, but not the destruction of the building itself. when the inner, more structurally important columns failed, the building failed.
btw, just because you know how to build, doesnt mean you know how to knock down.

the fire didnt burn all 287 columns evenly, and it didnt have to. just weakening some of them would have increased the load on the other columns beyond their design limits, thereby causing their failure.
